1841 - The homecoming and rebirth of the family on the Susquehanna Canal, and the dangers of abolition.
1842 - Old hatreds visit Ben. Slave stealers kidnap Sonja. The family fights to survive.
1843 - The Pulaskis win their schooner. Forced by hurricane, far out to sea and the cruelties of War.
1844 - Ben and Sonja return to South Carolina to steal more slaves north, face death threats and boldly rescue slaves from Charleston,
1845-48 The horrors of war in Mexico and a great plan to steal slaves away from the nations capital.
1849-59. The Pulaskis are caught in the whirlwind of pro and anti slavery laws as the specter of war arises.
1860-63. The Pulaskis are pulled into war. Son Isaac withstands the bombardment inside Fort Sumter as brother Aaron marries in Charleston to the cadence of cannon fire.
1863-65. Isaac is badly wounded while Aaron flees false murder charges, hiding in Richmond. Ben and Sonja are ordered to bury the dead at Gettysburg.
1865-70. The tragedies of war come home, failure of the freedmens bureau and the rise of the KKK,
1870. Ben and Sonja alone.
